Pirelli
Founded in Milan in 1872 by Giovanni Battista Pirelli, the company initially specialized in rubber
and derivative processes. Thereafter, Pirelli’s activities were primarily focused on the production of tires.
Pirelli is a multinational company based in Milan, Italy, listed on the Milan Stock Exchange since 1922. The company is one of the largest tire manufacturers in the world. It is present in over 160 countries, has 19 manufacturing sites in 13 countries and a network of around 12,500 distributors and retailers.
Pirelli has been sponsoring sport competitions since 1907 and is the exclusive tire supplier for the Formula One Championship for 2011–2019 and for the FIM World Superbike Championship.
Pirelli is now a pure tire manufacturing company. In the past it has also launched fashion project and operated in renewable energy and sustainable mobility.
Pirelli has published its Pirelli Calendar since 1964, which has featured the contribution of famous photographers over the years like Helmut Newton, Steve McCurry, Peter Lindbergh and others.
